We ventured to Sun Valley, Idaho to participate in the annual ASID Intermountain chapter meeting. The day began with student round tables with professionals. We participated in seminars centered on sustainable stone and improved communication and motivation. The rest of our trip included a break spent wandering the streets of Ketchum, the student design competition, and dinner. We are excited to announce that BYU-Idaho took all three places in the competition. Congratulations, Hilaree Harris (1st Place), Natalie Wood (2nd Place), and Christen Oyler (3rd Place)!

Design Symposium: Sarah Susanka
We were privileged to have Sarah Susanka as our Design Symposium speaker this year. Acclaimed architect and best-selling author of the "Not So Big" series, Sarah spoke on the importance of designing quality spaces rather than seeking a "sense of home" in quantity. Though she is involved in her architectural pursuits, Sarah also taught us how to be fully engaged in our work but not defined by it. The greatest way to enjoy life is to be present in each moment. We loved having Sarah visit our campus!
