Tamara Young of Stark

SYLLABUS
Tamara Young is Stark's Representative to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.  Tamara Came to BYU-Idaho to give a presentation of many Stark products. She displayed a video that showed the special manufacturing process that custom Stark carpet goes through. Some of the products she was able to share with the students ranged from tapestries to wallpaper and to fabric. 

Sun Valley 2010

The 2010 ASID Annual Meeting was held in Sun Valley, ID. Students were able to participate in round table meetings with ASID professionals. Donna Geisler a professional in the industry spoke on  “The Art of Marketing” and David Ballast, FAIA spoke on “How to Create Interior Construction Details that Work”. The keynote speaker Mary M. Hoffman from Benjamin Moore presented the color trends for 2012 in her presentation: “Introducing Color Pulse 2012: Preservation”.
 
SYLLABUS
There was a people’s choice Student Design Competition. Two of our students won both 1st and 3rd place.

During our trip there we were able to visit the Our Lady of the Snows Church.
 




Architect: Kevin Howard



A native of Arizona, Kevin Howard attended Ricks
College early in his career and ultimately received
an architectural degree from the University of Arizona
in 1989. He became a licensed architect in 1993
and established his own firm in Tuscon, AZ, in 1994,
specializing in custom desert homes.
Kevin Howard and his firm have been highly awarded,
including multiple Southern Arizona Home of the
Year citations and Southern AIA Residential Design
Excellence awards. Howard received the best local
architect award by Tucson Home Magazine in 2007
and was recently nominated for the Tucson Architect
of the Year award. His homes have been featured in
Luxe, Tucson Lifestyle, Tucson Home, and Arizona Home
& Design magazines; one his dramatic homes was
featured on HGTV’s “Dream House.”
During his visit Kevin Howard attended the Space Planning class and helped juniors with their Passive Solar Project.
